State Testing begins tomorrow, April 22nd!

Friendly reminder that we will have school tomorrow, 4/18, in person due to the many days of inclement weather.

Our 3rd-5th graders at Will Rogers start state testing on Tuesday, April 22nd! That said, I would like to stress the importance of resting, routine, and attendance during this time for our students:
Ensure a consistent sleep routine and limit screen time
Healthy breakfast (or have them eat at school)
Arrive on time to reduce stress
Avoid unnecessary absences or appointments to keep routines consistent
Encourage a positive mindset and stay encouraging! Communicate any concerns.
Please email willrogers.elementaryschool@edmondschools.net if you know already your 3rd-5th grade student will be absent; this helps us prepare for make-up testing sessions.

Tag your favorite graduating senior who attended Will Rogers! Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.

Based on the winter weather forecast, and in order to give our families and staff members as much notice as possible, we are making the decision that tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18th, will be a remote learning day for all EPS schools. As we monitor the conditions, we are also anticipating the possibility of additional days of either remote learning or weather closure days.
EPS parents, please see the second image on this post and check your email for more details from Dr. Grunewald on the impact this will have on the schedule for the remainder of the year.

No School on Monday, February 17th in observance of President's Day.

Because of continued isolated icy roads in parts of our district as well as slick and dangerous parking lots and sidewalks, Edmond Public Schools will move to remote learning for all schools for Thursday, February 13th.
Students should refer to information sent by their school site for assignments that will need to be completed for attendance to be counted.
Based on the current forecasts, we plan to be back to in-person school on Friday.

Because of the predicted freezing rain creating poor road conditions overnight, Edmond Public Schools will move to remote learning for all schools for Wednesday, February 12th.
Students should refer to information sent by their school site for assignments that will need to be completed for attendance to be counted.
Updated to reflect correct date.

Save the Date!
Tuesday, February 18th, 6-7pm in the Multipurpose Room.
Allison Jennings and Jamie Whitefield are continuing their discussion on "The Anxious Generation." We hope you will join in the conversation!

Because of an increasing number of student and staff absences this week, we have made the difficult decision to close school for all Edmond Public Schools for tomorrow, Friday, January 31st. Extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled.
This decision was made in advance to give our families and staff members time to prepare. We will let you know as soon as possible how this instructional time will be made up.
We look forward to seeing your students back in class on Monday morning.
