We are busy at work here using our “out of the box” thinking at Will Rogers.  Let me update you on some of the things we have going on with each grade level.

5th Grade – The fifth graders are currently working to develop projects to submit to ExploraVision.  This is a contest sponsored by Toshiba and encourages K-12 students to envision technologies of the future.

4th Grade – The fourth grade students have been learning about robots.  They have enjoyed learning about the history, types, and uses of a variety of robots.  We will begin building in the next few weeks and be ready to trade our robots with another Edmond Elementary around the Christmas Break.

3rd Grade – The third graders are polishing up their Popplet presentations on their chosen explorer.  They did a fantastic job researching and learning about their person.  We will be presenting these at the end of October.

2nd Grade – The second graders have been working through Primary Education Thinking Skills (PETS).  We learn about characters who use a high level thinking skill necessary in his/her job.  These skills help students use deductive, analytical, inventive, and evaluative thinking skills, while also incorporating visual/spacial perception.

On a side note, if you are looking for Christmas ideas for your children, check these out!  We have recently used them in the classroom and the students were completely enamored with them.
